School Street
Dear parent/carer,
Many thanks for the support over the last few months with getting this project up and running. We are happy to confirm that the School Streets project for Exbourne Road is scheduled to begin on Monday 8th July.
You will already be aware of this progress, as there was an article in the Reading Chronicle recently and it has now been approved by the transport committee of RBC. We are really delighted that this much-needed project is now under way and we look forward to it being supported by the school communities.
Please remember the following:
- The closure timings are (term time only):
- Mrning: 8.20 – 9.05am
- Afternons: 2.50 – 3.30pm
- Only approved vehicles will be given access to Exbourne Road during these times
- To begin with we are mainly using school staff to act as marshals, but we hope to extend this to parent and resident volunteers once it is established (training is provided)
- Marshals are all giving their time to help the children keep safe – please treat them with respect and courtesy
Once again, many thanks for your continued support and we look forward to the children arriving at school as safely as possible.
Yours Sincerely,
|

There is a competition for children across the three schools to enter to design permits for residents and staff. Please encourage your children to do so and return them to your school’s office by Monday 1st July. (details on the following page).
